Okay but you forgot the best part! During the scene where Aragorn, Gandalf and the other Main CharaktersTM ride ahead to go shout at the gate (and talk to the mouth of sauron in the extended edition) they were very firmly told only to ride up ahead “this far” because that area was cleared and beyond that it wasn’t.
But. Viggo Mortensen is absolutely mad and lead them just…. a bit farther than that. Everyone else was very scared they might blow up any second. Viggo said it “added a little extra tension”.
Smallville clark is SO funny he just lies without reason sometimes and he’s extremely petty and mean on occasion hes insanely forgiving. he does the bare minimum of hiding his powers, had a crush on the girl who’s necklace can kill him, never wears less that 3 layers, literally never explains anything to his friends ever. has only 2 friends who’ve just accpeted that fact he will disappear with no explanation. he calls his barn roof room the fortess of solitude, he found out he was an alien and sulked in the middle of graveyard at midnight. he’s a skeptic who panics at the slightest of evidence. he’s a dork. hes fucking terrifying. he was on drugs (red k) for 3 months and did nothing but commit crimes and be a bitch. he blew up his house. he’s destroyed so many trucks.he has too much modesty until he’s near red k. he once crashed lexs wedding party with lois and exposed him. sometimes he’ll just pick lois up and put her down slightly to the left. he wears one fucking jacket. he thinks capes are dumb he basically killed a man in episode 5 of season 1 and it’s never brought up again. I’m obessed with him
no piece of teen media has ever accurately depicted the quiet psychological warfare of bullying. bullies on TV are always dumb brutes and not the evil geniuses of emotional manipulation that they are in real life. being given a wedgie and having your lunch money stolen is nothing in comparison to a classmate quietly creating a taboo against speaking to you that they intend to enforce against all the other kids. it’s nothing like continuous cutting comments from people you thought were being nice to you. that way that the work of one kid can make you feel like every person on earth silently hates you and that you are dirty, disgusting, worthless, creepy and useless. that you can have friends but many of them will not speak to you at school for fear of the social consequences on their end. how that damage lasts in any social setting for the rest of your life
you can’t even “tell a trusted adult” because you cannot begin to articulate the thousands of small transgressions you’ve experienced building to the horror of knowing your peers would like you dead. they don’t have to say it or hurt you physically. they have other ways of letting you know they’d prefer if you were worn fuel
